What is TardySweep?
TardySweep is a tardy tracking and accountability system for high schools. Staff log tardies in seconds at hall sweeps, tardy stations, classroom doors or on their phones. Your school's own consequence rules tell the student what happens next as soon as the tardy is logged, and administrators get reports on tardy trends by period, location and student.
Who uses TardySweep?
High schools in the Omaha, Nebraska area, including Buena Vista High School and Omaha South High School in Omaha Public Schools and Ralston High School in Ralston Public Schools. The people who use it day to day are administrators, deans, attendance staff, hall monitors and, at some schools, teachers.
How is TardySweep different from a digital hall pass app?
Hall pass apps manage students who are out of class with permission. TardySweep handles students who are late: it records every tardy, counts them across the periods you choose, applies your consequence rules immediately, prints a pass that tells the student where to go, and shows leaders the patterns. Many tools only produce the pass. TardySweep is built around the follow-up.
How long does it take to set up?
Most schools are set up in under an hour. A setup checklist walks an administrator through school details, the school-year calendar, bell schedules, the student import, pass templates, staff invitations and consequence rules. You can do it yourself during a free trial, and we're glad to walk you through it.
What devices does it work on?
Any computer, tablet or phone with a web browser, plus iPhone and Android apps. Tardy stations typically use a computer with a USB barcode scanner, so students can scan their ID cards, and an optional printer for passes. Passes print on standard 8.5×11 paper or 4×6 thermal labels.
Does it replace our student information system?
No. TardySweep works alongside your SIS. You import your student list from a spreadsheet, and you can export any filtered list of tardies or events to CSV to load into your SIS or other tools. For schools that want it automated, we build custom integrations that pull student data from your SIS and push tardies back. Custom integrations are quoted separately.
Can students log their own tardies?
Yes, with classroom stations. A late student types their student ID on the classroom iPad or Chromebook, confirms their name and taps Log Tardy, or scans the room's QR code with their school iPad. They see their tardy count and what happens next right away, and the tardy counts toward the same Event Rules and reports as one logged by staff. Students never sign in or have accounts. Classroom stations are priced by the number of rooms.
Does TardySweep contact students or parents?
No. Students and parents don't have accounts, and TardySweep doesn't text, email or call them. When a tardy reaches one of your milestones, the alert appears on the logging screen or classroom station and can print on the student's pass, so your staff decide what happens next.
How do you protect student data?
We collect only what's needed to log and report tardies: student name, ID, school and, if you provide it, grade level, plus the tardy records themselves. We never sell student data or use it for advertising, your school owns its data and can export it or have it deleted, and we sign district student data privacy agreements. See our Student Data Privacy Statement for details, including how we handle FERPA.
How much does it cost?
$2,400 a year, which includes 10 users. Each additional user is $120 a year. A user is any staff member who logs tardies or manages TardySweep. Students don't count as users, and tardies, students, passes, rules and exports are unlimited. Classroom stations, where students log their own tardies, are an add-on priced by the number of rooms.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. You can sign up, set up your school and start logging tardies during a free trial without talking to anyone. No credit card is needed to start.
Can we pay by purchase order or check?
Yes. You can pay online by card or bank account, or request an invoice on 30-day terms with your purchase order number on it. Invoices can be paid by card, bank transfer or mailed check.
What kind of support do you offer?
Email support from the people who build TardySweep, plus a help center with step-by-step guides. We usually answer the same business day, and much faster for anything urgent.
Does TardySweep actually reduce tardies?
In our schools, yes. Ralston High School's first-quarter tardies in the 2026–27 school year were 34% lower than in the first quarter of the year before, and Buena Vista High School saw tardies fall 27% from one semester to the next in its first year. TardySweep works best alongside a clear tardy policy and adults in the hallways during passing periods.
How long has TardySweep been around?
Since 2024. It started at Buena Vista High School in Omaha, where staff needed a better way to track tardies, and has grown through schools recommending it to each other.
