Introducing TardySweep!
Learn why TardySweep was built and how this school attendance software helps high schools track tardies and drive real results.

Welcome! Glad you’re here.
If you landed here, chances are you’re curious about TardySweep, how it started, and who’s behind it. I wanted to put together something a little more personal than a standard marketing page. This is the story of how TardySweep came to be, what it does, and where it’s headed.
I’m Justin, the founder of TardySweep, and if you’re dealing with student tardies at your school, there’s a good chance you’ll recognize parts of this story.
How TardySweep started
TardySweep was born out of a real problem at my wife’s school.
She works at a high school in Omaha, Nebraska, and for years I heard firsthand how frustrating it was to manage tardies. Logging them manually. Tracking patterns in spreadsheets. Trying to stay consistent with follow-ups. It took a lot of time, and even then, it was hard to see the full picture.
I’ve spent my career building technology to solve operational problems, so my reaction was pretty simple: there had to be a better way to manage student tardies.
What really stood out to me was this. If a high school with around 1,500 students in Omaha was struggling with tardy tracking and accountability, there had to be plenty of other schools dealing with the same thing. The solution didn’t need to be complicated. It needed to fit into how schools already work, be easy for staff to use, and be affordable.
That idea became TardySweep.
Where we are today
About a year and a half later, TardySweep is actively used by three high schools, supporting roughly 5,500 students across the Omaha area.
To me, that’s a big deal, especially because every bit of that growth has come through word of mouth. Our additional schools came to us through our very first client. No heavy sales push. Just schools talking to other schools and sharing what worked for them.
That kind of growth tells me we’re solving a real problem.
What is TardySweep?
At its core, TardySweep is a student tardy tracking and attendance management platform built specifically for schools.
It helps staff log tardies quickly, report on tardy trends, and follow up with students in a consistent and timely way. Because it works on both web and mobile, staff can access real-time data from anywhere in the building.
More importantly, it helps schools move from reactive discipline to informed action.
In our first year, Buena Vista High School saw a 27 percent reduction in tardies from one semester to the next. I don’t come from an education background, but that kind of improvement feels meaningful no matter what field you’re in.
Many of TardySweep’s most popular features exist because schools asked for them. Things like searchable student records, SIS integration, instant feedback for students, and even physical tardy pass printing all came directly from real-world use. I care deeply about building technology that solves problems for people who don’t have the time or resources to build it themselves.
When we add a new feature, every school benefits. That shared progress is one of the things I enjoy most about building TardySweep.
Where we’re headed
The goal is simple: build a tardy management system that works for any school, regardless of size.
Not every school needs another platform, and that’s okay. But for schools that want clearer data, better visibility, and a simpler way to manage attendance issues, TardySweep provides real value. So far, we’ve seen strong organic growth, meaningful reductions in tardies, and new insights as we work with schools that all operate a little differently.
Simplicity drives everything we build. The platform is intentionally easy to learn and deploy. Most schools are fully onboarded in about 30 minutes. That ease of use matters because when staff actually use the system consistently, schools get better data. Better data leads to better decisions, and better decisions reduce tardy trends.
Who I am
Outside of TardySweep, I’m the Director of Innovation for a large healthcare staffing firm in Omaha. In that role, I’ve built apps that streamline operations, help professionals find jobs, and reduce friction in complex systems.
Before that, I co-owned a company for seven years that I started in college, until COVID changed the direction of that business.
At my core, I’m a builder. I enjoy finding inefficiencies and creating tools that make people’s jobs easier.
My wife is a high school counselor, and I also volunteer my time helping with student activities when I can. That keeps me connected to the day-to-day realities schools face, not just as a software creator, but as someone who sees the impact up close.
The bottom line
I’m glad you found your way here.
If you’re interested, I’d love to personally walk you through TardySweep. A demo takes about 30 minutes, and I can set you up with a trial so you can see how it fits into your current attendance and tardy processes. No major changes required, just better visibility and more useful data.
If that sounds like something your school could benefit from, head over to the contact page and reach out. We’ll find a time that works and take it from there.
